Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Director of Development located in Washington, DC or elsewhere, with work-from-home flexibility. The Director of Development will be responsible for overseeing and implementing all fundraising activities, including planned giving, annual giving, and philanthropy efforts. Daily tasks include developing and managing budgets, coordinating fundraising events, and building relationships with donors. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with team members and stakeholders to ensure the strategic growth of the organization’s funding base. This is a full-time position responsible for cultivating partnerships with donors, agencies, NGOs, and foundations, preparing proposals, and leading fundraising efforts.

The role includes oversight of budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and financial compliance, as well as collaboration with the Board to achieve fundraising goals.

The incumbent will oversee strategic communications and public outreach efforts designed to educate and engage diverse audiences.

Travel to Costa Rica will be required to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of this role.

Salary between $50,000 and $70,000 depending upon qualifications.
