Third Grader Raises Over $1900 for Leatherback Turtle Conservation

Baltimore, Maryland

November 2005


Meghan Taschenberger, a third-grader at Crofton Elementary School, was honored for her efforts at a Baltimore luncheon organized by the Maryland chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals for her efforts in raising almost $2000 to save leatherback turtles.

Meghan held a fund raiser on Earth Day, gave lectures, and undertook other activities to save her favorite animal. Not quite 8, Meghan has already contributed a huge effort to save the leatherback turtle and is a model for all of us, both students and adults.
